About event
Santa Claus is coming... to Lübars!
Crocodiles in Advent? This is possible in Lübars: The Crocodile Princess Jazz Orchestra tours the metropolis - large jazz orchestras are a rarity these days. At the start of the tour, the ensemble stops in the LabSaal. On this eve of the big Christmas market in the LabSaal, the 17-member big band will play an atmospheric mix of swinging Christmas songs, contemplative ballads and classics from pop, swing, funk and soul.
Founded in 1995, the Crocodile Princess Jazz Orchestra has continuously developed into a fixture in the Berlin jazz scene. Dietrich Koch led the orchestra from 2007 to 2025. As an esteemed saxophonist, accomplished composer and experienced arranger, he significantly shaped the band's sound and repertoire. In June 2025, Marc Doffey was recruited to lead the band. Marc was awarded many jazz awards at a young age and has gained experience in renowned big bands and jazz formations. When working with the Crocodile Princess Jazz Orchestra, he ensures that the musical quality, the band's enthusiasm for playing and the fun for the audience are "in harmony". The classic big band line-up with 13 brass instruments, guitar, piano, bass and drums is complemented by the singer Charlotte Nörenberg, who inspires the audience with her flexible voice, groove and a lot of feeling.
Funk that goes off, pop that you can sing along to, film music that everyone knows, Latin that gets you going and of course lots of swing classics from Count Basie to Peter Herbolzheimer: from a repertoire of almost 200 The Crocodile Princess Jazz Orchestra plays pieces in sophisticated arrangements not only for jazz fans, but for everyone who loves great sound and professional performance.
Look forward to a wonderful concert evening that will take you swinging into the Christmas season.
