Cristina Clara will celebrate the cultural variety of Lisbon

Portuguese World Music. In the Hall of the Prague New Town Hall, June 10, 2025, will present its original fusion of contemporary FADA with the musical traditions of Kapverd and Brazil. Cristina is particularly interested in the living dialogue between cultures, the proverbial melting cauldron of ideas, traditions and artistic styles. An inexhaustible source of inspiration in which the singer immersed when she moved from her native North Portugal to a cosmopolitan, relaxed Lisbon. In her songs, we can easily hear the legacy of Brazilian music, such as the rhythm of Choro, or elements of the Cape Verde style of Morn. Which are the ingredients that stood in the establishment of FADA in the 19th century. But not just that. Cristina Clara, with the same taste, also accepts the influence of traditional Portugal music throughout the breadth, not just FADA. In addition, elegant rhythmic touches of Andalusian music or modern jazz procedures. Pedro Loch, Brazilian guitar virtuoso, has a major impact on the Cristina Clara arrangement. How to connect? The "something extra": a distinctive singing speech, persuasiveness, temperament. Clara also deserved concert opportunities thanks to the famous performance at the Womex 2024. & O Trenzinho to Caipir. She perfectly expressed her vision of free communication and harmony of various traditions. She combined in the recording of compositions whose authors are the Portuguese composer Zeca Afonso (1929-1987), Brazilian poet Ferreira Gullar (1930-2016) and Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Llobos (1887-1959). Musicians from Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verd, Spain and Italy participated in the interpretation. href = "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at4dj8rfo_Q"> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at4dj8rfo_q
