With Prof. Marc Secara
What ingredients does a “perfect” choir sound need and how can we approach this sound? How can we improve challenging and often tedious problems with joy and fun in the choir? You train various choral perception exercises and work on all the essential components of good sound. Phrasing, various exercises on rhythm, intonation, sound and interpretation are highlighted. Strategies for a successful, authentic stage appearance and a rousing performance are trained. Overarching questions regarding rehearsal planning, program selection, casting and stage technology are also addressed.
Prof. Marc Secara has been working with pop and jazz choirs for over 20 years. He was the artistic director of the Brandenburg State Youth Pop and Jazz Choir (www.youngvoicesbrandenburg.de) for 20 years, sang with BERLIN VOICES for over a decade and is a regular coach of the vocal group of the Federal Jazz Orchestra.
