About event

Come to the Climate Lab Connect Day on November 26th and get to know our diverse community!

Come to the Climate Lab Connect Day on November 26, 2025 and explore the questions together with us: How do we make the climate change in Austria socially fair, participatory and sustainable? Who benefits from the transformation, who bears the burden, and how can everyone be involved?

In our "Deep Dive: Fair climate change: opportunities, responsibility and participation" we, together with experts, examine the social dimension of the climate change from different perspectives and show how fairness, responsibility and participation can be thought of together.

We then invite you to the Climate Lab Happy Hour, where we will end the day together with drinks and conversation.

P.S. In the run-up to the event, you are welcome to do your work alongside our community of climate innovators in our coworking spaces.

Deep Dive: Fair climate change: opportunities, responsibility and participation

How do we make the climate change in Austria socially fair, participatory and sustainable? Who benefits from the transformation, who bears the burden, and how can everyone be involved?

Together with experts, we examine the social dimension of the climate transition from different perspectives and show how fairness, responsibility and participation can be thought of together.

Holger Hoff (University of Graz) brings in current scientific findings on climate resilience and transformation. In doing so, he sheds light on how systemic connections can be understood and used to develop sustainable transformation paths.

Christian Kdolsky (climate referendum) provides insights from a social and political dimension - with a focus on participation, fair distribution of burdens and the question of how climate policy can be designed in a socially acceptable way.

Together we also want real ones Discuss implementation experiences: Where is social justice already visible in climate or transformation projects? What challenges do organizations, cities and initiatives face in the application - and what opportunities do they create?

After the inputs, we open the space for an interactive discussion in which we reflect together on how a socially just climate change can be designed and promoted in Austria.

We look forward to seeing you!
