About event
City Lights live with Babylon Orchestra Berlin A timeless unique piece that you will not forget. A gift for your soul. Cinema doesn't get any better.
What are the pitfalls of life without the loud laughter about them, what is found love without the tear in the viewer's eye.
The love between a tramp (Charlie Chaplin) and a street vendor (Virginia Cherrill) who offers flowers is not a good star. The tramp tricked the blind girl into believing he was a wealthy man.
However, the deception initially works because the tramp saves the life of a millionaire (Harry Myers). Under the influence of alcohol, the millionaire gives his rescuer money, but when he is sober he cannot remember him and chases him away.
The millionaire continues this behavior in the future, so that the tramp keeps getting new money as soon as the millionaire has looked too deeply into the glass. Nevertheless, the tramp also has to work to bridge the time in between. When his true love urgently needs money, the tramp wants to help, but it's more difficult than expected.

A film like never before and never since. A timeless unique piece that you will not forget. A gift for your soul. Cinema doesn't get any better than this.
Wandering the city streets, the Little Tramp happens upon a blind flower girl who mistakes him for a rich man. The Tramp later saves a drunken millionaire who is attempting to drown himself in the river. The millionaire becomes his best friend. That is, until he sobers up and no longer recognizes the Tramp… In City Lights, friendship and social ranking are not always as they seem. We enter a world of a disenchanted bourgeoisie, where a tramp is king and a blind girl, queen.
