About event
The period of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, parenthood is fertile ground for many joys, plans and achievements... but it is also a land of doubts, anxieties and concerns.
With this in mind, the Portuguese Association for Women's Rights in Pregnancy and Childbirth (APDMGP) created a space where it is possible to view some of the most interesting documentaries on the subject, followed by a debate.
Some sessions feature special guests.
This is an initiative aimed at everyone who is interested, works and has a relationship with the topic.
On May 24th, the documentary 'Birth Story' (2012), directed by Sara Lamm and Mary Wigmore, is scheduled to be shown.
"Ina May Gaskin and The Farm Midwives documents a group of women who taught themselves how to deliver babies in a 1970s hippie commune. With unprecedented access to the midwives' archival video collection as well as modern footage of life in the alternative intentional community where they live, this documentary It shows childbirth in a way that most people have never seen: without adornment."
The themes of the next sessions will be announced soon.
