CHOIR JAM - V.O.I.C.E x Ottakringer - "Wonderful Dream"

1 evening, 1 song and lots of joy of life & community - join us at our open singing evening in the Ottakringer Brewery!

What is ae CHOIR JAM?

V.O.I.C.E is now bringing the globally successful “One Day Choir” format to Austria!

In the V.O.I.C.E “CHOIR JAM” (short for “Choir Jam Session”), all singing enthusiasts in Vienna will find the perfect place to get together without regular Commitments to singing and making music!

Wherever you are on your personal musical journey - our open singing evening is a place of joy of life, community and self-expression for everyone who is looking for the ideal opportunity to work on a song together in a jam session style with several voices. No commitments – just be there, enjoy and merge with all the other voices. The way you can only experience it in a choir!

And as a sociable accompaniment to the singing evening, you can chat happily with old and new acquaintances before and after singing, have a drink together and maybe even continue jamming... 😊

Who is our CHOIR for JAM?

Everyone is welcome: from toddlers to seniors, from beginners to singing professionals. We look forward to seeing you!

What is being sung?

This time the program is “WONDERFUL DREAM (HOLIDAYS ARE COMING)” by Melanie Thornton! Beautiful - and you might know it from the Coca Cola Christmas ad ;-)

You can listen to the original here: https://youtu.be/YiBoWNo6xDs?si=u9qwu2ENn6zd0ncM

How is our CHOIR JAM evening going specifically? from?

First you need a ticket - but that's the only preparation you have to make! About 1 hour before the singing starts, we open the doors for a first chat and getting to know each other over cool drinks from Ottakringer. Then it starts! For about 1 ½ hours we will work together on a popular and well-known song that is sure to make everyone's hearts beat faster (with Karin Courtnay as leader). We will bring printed texts for you and ensure the right atmosphere with our live band accompaniment. Of course we will also sing in multiple voices - after all, we want to create a choir feeling! It's best to sing and groove while standing, but if necessary we always have a few benches prepared for you. If we're in a good mood with the song, we'll then "perform" it in front of our social media camera and celebrate our joint polyphonic final result, so that you can listen to it again later.

Afterwards, you can drink and chat together with all your old and new acquaintances as you please - and maybe there will even be another jam session... 😉

This is V.O.I.C.E!

There are many choirs - V.O.I.C.E is unique in every respect and is breaking new and innovative paths in the Austrian choir scene. With V.O.I.C.E we want to create something new musically by creating a modern & upbeat choir sound, writing original arrangements for our choirs, collaborating with other inspiring musicians and songwriters and bringing the “choir” experience holistically into the music world of the 21st century. Because that's how choir should be: current, versatile and innovative!

In addition to all the musical ambitions, community is very important to us! V.O.I.C.E consists of many extraordinary voices that have one thing in common: the passion for singing together and the spirit of wanting to create something new in the choral world. Our members include both experienced singers and enthusiastic newcomers. We as V.O.I.C.E reflect the diversity of our society and every singing enthusiast will find a platform here where the focus is on personal, artistic and musical development. For many members, V.O.I.C.E feels like a second family - for us one of the best compliments!

It all started in February 2019 with 3 choirs and around 100 members. Now – a few years later – we have 10 different choirs, numerous courses & workshops and around 750 active members. We also have over half a million fans on social media. What a privilege that modern technology makes it so easy for us to share music and passion with people from all over the world and to exchange ideas with choirs from different countries and cultural backgrounds!

Our motto: Spread love, kindness & connection among people through singing together :)
