Chicago

The film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Chicago, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere, follows the story of average chorus dancer Roxie Hart who decides to commit murder for fame. When he does, he ends up behind bars along with cabaret star Velma Kelly, who, with the help of wily lawyer Billy Flynn, unleashes a media frenzy around his crime. After Flynn takes Roxie's case, he makes her the hottest tabloid sensation, setting the stage for a song and dance showdown between the two overzealous rivals. The film Chicago won six Oscars in 2003, including the award for best film.
