About event
The lecture will be led by Mgr. Markéta Svobodová, Ph.D. Department of Art-Historical Topography, Institute of Art History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i
The lecture is based on rich pictorial archive material and will present new and older objects (including those that no longer exist) that were built by the Club of Czechoslovak Tourists (KČST) in the territory of Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia, Slovakia and Subcarpathian Rus during the First Republic. Attention will be paid to both well-known and lesser-known architects and builders. We will also focus on the special role of the Technical (construction) commission of the KČST, founded in 1919, which organized, regulated and partially financed the construction of tourist huts and shelters. At the same time, the lecture will place the creation of these buildings in a wider historical context.
