A father, a profession for whom the main idol is money and profit despite the pain caused by the worship of these false sacraments causes him and his loved ones. Mother escaping from reality of relationships to dependence on opiates masked for drugs. Older son Jamie as a mixture of clumsy imitation of his father, empty defiance and alcoholism. And the younger son Edmund - Eugene O'Neill himself - on whom the hopeless reality is rushing to. Family as a non -functional but solid network of fake roles and impossible expectations.
