KLEŤ (1087 m a.s.l.)
Kleť is the highest mountain in Blanský forest (1087 m above sea level), located near Český Krumlov and České Budějovice. At the top there is Josef's Tower, the oldest stone lookout tower in Bohemia, and the mountain hut Tereziina Chata with a restaurant. Kleť offers beautiful views and is popular for hiking, cycling and skiing. A cable car leads to the top and there is also an observatory with international scope. In the surroundings of the mountain there is a nature reserve with original beech forests.
ČESKÝ KRUMLOV
The name Krumlov comes from the German Krumme Aue (crooked meadow in Czech), which refers to the location of the city between the ace-shaped bends of the Vltava river. The city of Český Krumlov owes its unique beauty largely to the landscape in which it is set. It is built in a bend of the Vltava river, above which rise two rocky hills. They created an ideal base for the architectural landmarks of the city - the castle and the chateau. The relationships and symbolic meanings that open up in such an inhabited landscape are the main source of the atmosphere of the place and can be perceived in all distant views even in the streets of the city.
