About event
The game, which is missing seven paintings
Dr. Struna, a Czech patriot, will make a major contribution to the purchase of a mouse whale skeleton for the National Museum, which is currently being built. After a series of escapades - the bones of the whale have to be degreased in the nearby Ringhoffer factory - the skeleton is finally to be placed in the new building. The mediator of the museum directorate, Malajel, comes behind Struna with the unhappy news: the skeleton will not fit in the museum, it needs to be shortened by seven tail vertebrae. The battle between Struna and Malayel for the seven vertebrae begins. The secondary storyline then revolves around the composition of the celebratory "Ode to the Whale" and the relationship between Struna's maid and the young man Karuzelský, who single-handedly drives the second Prague sensation of 1893 - the carousel at Královské Vinohrady (today known as the carousel at Letná). A game of realized metaphors of Czech smallness and artistic compromises.
