Brazilian Zouk
How as the name indicates, it is a dance originating from Brazil. Zouk is a wonderful couple dance that prides itself on its sensuality.
It evolved from Lambada, which ruled Brazilian discotheques in the 90s. Somewhere, the name Zouk - Lambada is still used today. Since then it has undergone a substantial evolution and its present form is influenced by many musical and dance styles.
The sensuality, musicality and possibility to dance this dance to different musical styles caused it to spread from Brazil to the whole world and finally we have the opportunity to learn this dance also in the east of Slovakia!
The classes will be taught by Veronika together with the Zouk Košice team
Veronika has been dedicated to dancing since a young age. In her childhood, she mainly engaged in ballroom dancing. Later, during her studies in Bratislava, she discovered Latin dances such as salsa and bachata. However, her heart was won by the beautiful Brazilian Zouk dance and she has been doing it since 2012. She started learning it in Dubai with the teacher Samantha Ho and thanks to her frequent travels she had the opportunity to learn from the best Zouk teachers in the world. In 2015, she went to Brazil, where she studied zouk under the guidance of teacher Val Clemente for several months. Since 2018, he has been teaching Brazilian zouk in Košice. To this day, he regularly travels to Brazil and to various festivals, where he expands his knowledge. Veronika also dances other dances, but zouk is her preferred style, mainly due to the freedom and creativity it offers dancers.
