About event

The activities provided at the Learning Library, aimed at children and young people and dedicated to programming robots, toys and interactive games, use the Tinkering process to allow for an expansion of knowledge. Tinkering is what happens when you try to do something guided by curiosity and imagination without knowing exactly how to do it. There are no instructions, no right or wrong way to do things, but there are also no failures. Tinkering is, in its most basic form, a process that marries play with questioning.

The Goethe-Institut Learning Library is created in collaboration with MILL - Makers In Little Lisbon.

All activities are free to enter, upon prior registration via the following email: Biblioteca.lisboa@goethe.de

The Goethe-Institut Learning Library, held in collaboration with MILL - Makers In Little Lisbon, signs up in the tradition of the Library of Things movement, which was born during the Great Depression of the 20th century, when toy libraries were opened in the United States. The first Library of Things, a tool library, still open today, appeared in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, in 1943, with the aim of offering training to young people in that region.
