About event

After a stormy two-day stay in the heart of hippy Kathmandu, we will go through traditional villages in the mountains. A kind of Nepalese laziness, which tourism has miraculously avoided so far.

To keep it that way, we do not name specific places in the itinerary here on the website. After signing up for the trip, of course, you will get complete info.

In addition to the fact that it is a culturally extremely rich trek, where in some places we will not even speak Nepali, because this area is inhabited by ethnic groups using their own language, we will have epic views of the snow-covered seven thousand mountains.

The trek lasts 5 days of pure walking, 3 days we go up and 2 days down. Since the highest point of the trek is 3200 meters, this trek is also suitable for those people who do not dare to go to greater heights or who might have health problems at a high altitude. We don't go to high altitudes, we don't even touch the rope, the terrain is simple and the entire trek is relatively densely populated by the native population. If your legs are working and you can handle the Tatras normally, you can also handle this trek. The trek is also suitable for families with children.

The remaining days we will have other unforgettable adventures - rafting and camping by the river (3+ grade river, even beginners can do it), and then two nights in the beautiful jungle in Chitwan. Rhinos, tigers, elephants, palm trees, humidity and the bizarre feeling that we ended up in Africa from the snowy Himalayas during the day.

Date: 30/10(+1) - 15/11 2025

ITINERARY:
1. day - Departure from Vienna/Budapest/Prague or airport as desired
2. day - Arrival in Kathmandu. Welcome at the airport in Kathmandu and transfer to the city center. We will stay in a nice hotel that breathes tradition.
3. day - Kathmandu tour. Tour of the capital. Ancient Durbar Square with dozens of temples, hundreds of pigeons and thousands of people. A mixture of colors and tones, wild music coming from temples, flower and spice market, Sadhus... We will visit the little living Goddess Kumari in her temple, we will see Kathmandu from a height from the temple on the hill, where dozens of monkeys are running around, we will drive to the holiest Buddhist place in the world, where there will be hundreds of pilgrims, lamas and dozens of monasteries... In the evening, we will enjoy the Kathmandu nightlife. The surrounding businesses are bustling, trekkers, Sherpas, agency owners, but also ordinary Nepalis who don't have that deep in their pockets meet here. Packing backpacks, last shopping and preparations for the trek.
4. day - Bus journey to the starting village. In the morning, we get on a local bus, which the locals also use as a truck, and they load it up to the top with everything they can. Most of the harrowing journey is off-road, and seeing the hell and the crowd, we are glad to at least have our own, albeit miniature, seat. We will arrive at our destination only in the evening, exhausted. We will stay in a guesthouse and begin to breathe in the mountain air.
5. day - Trek to 2240m - approx. 6 hours At the very beginning, a steep descent awaits us like morning coffee, and we will run up from the ridge to a brand new Buddhist stupa, where there is a beautiful view of the nearby Langtang Lirung - the highest hill in this area (7234m). We will run down to the village, where we will have lunch, and we will run along the straight line to the destination village, which is perched above the terraced fields. Much of the traditional architecture was damaged by the earthquake in 2015, but the Nepalese have already built new houses. And even if it is not the most beautiful village on this trek, it is important that we help them overcome the difficult time by sleeping and eating here. We will visit a traditional Tamang Buddhist monastery and a lake.
6. day - Trek 2600m - about 5 hours of walking. Today we will have views of snow-capped mountains. Compared to the previous village, this one is tiny. This is our highest accommodation.
7. day - Peak day - approx. 3 hours At the beginning, a footpath awaits us through the rhododendron forest to the road under construction that connects Kathmandu with Tibet. We pass by traditional houses and climb up to the saddle at an altitude of 3200 meters. Although it is only lunch, the views are so beautiful that today we have the so-called Lunch camp - sitting on the forecourt, sipping tea, and whoever wants can taste the pine cones growing along the road in abundance during the entire trek.
8. day - Trek to 2300m - approx. 2 hours We will run down the hill to a traditional Tibetan Buddhist village. There are water-powered prayer rollers and plenty of options for short hikes to various viewpoints. As for the ancient wooden architecture unseen in other places in Nepal - this is the place!
9. day - The last day of the trek - we go down to the first village. Panoramic views and the gradual onset of civilization (mainly in the form of a water dam). Evening party - farewell party with porters. How many flats of Nepalese Khukri rum will fall?
10. day - Transfer by bus to Kathmandu. The opening skirmish repeats itself, this time we are already used to anything and we fall asleep as a monkey. Evening beer in rock pubs. Will Dorota also sing?
11. day - Transfer by bus to Pokhara. The picturesque town of Pokhara and views of Annapurna, Machapuchare and Dhaulaghiri. We will go on boats on the lake and visit the Hindu temple on the island. Anyone who wants to can do the most beautiful paragliding in the world.
12. day - Rest in Pokhara. As if we were on a real vacation. Lake, sun, palm trees, promenade, cafes, bars, views of the eight-thousanders, massages. Hedonism!!!
13. day - Rafting on the Seti River. Every boater's dream! A beautiful blue river flowing wildly through the untouched jungle, where there are no electric wires or asphalt roads. We will sail past indigenous villages where people live modestly in thatched houses and cultivate their fields. Cheerful villagers and especially their children will wave at us from the shore and from their small wooden canoes. Rope bridges, monkeys, vines and lunch on the beach by the river. Evening camping in one of the native villages by the river bank. We will sleep in a tent and sleeping bag, eat food cooked on fire. Perhaps natives will join us and sing local folk songs.
14. day - Disembarking from the raft and transfer by bus to Chitwan. We will stay in a straw hut by the river where rhinos and tigers go to drink. We will drink fresh juices from tropical fruits in front of the lodge and watch wildlife with binoculars. Will we be lucky and see the whole rhinoceros family? Chitwan National Park is a protected area that covers an area of up to 932 km² and is located in Asian Nepal. It was established in 1973, making it the oldest national park in Nepal. Because of its uniquely preserved fauna and flora, the park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1984. We avoid the crowded tourist village of Sauraha and head to a unique eco-friendly resort owned by Dorothy's friend. And we have the whole view to ourselves. Sometimes at night, a rhinoceros comes to the hotel fence. Just like nothing.
15. day - Safari in Chitwan. Are we even still in Nepal? Morning canoeing on a calm river full of crocodiles, followed by a jungle walk - we will wander through the jungle for a few hours and track animals. Sunsets in Chitwan are among the coolest.
16. day - By bus to Kathmandu. Last shopping and a party in rock pubs.
17. day - Departure from Nepal, full of memories, experiences and plans for further treks :))
