About event
The publisher Koloman Kertész Bagala specializes in contemporary Slovak literature and regularly invites personalities whose work has been published by his publishing house to Čitárna.
Text writer Peter Uličný will arrive for the next talk, together with whom they will present his collection 100x Peter Uličný (or Amnesty in the Madhouse). The book contains the author's selection of song texts from the author's forty years of work on the Slovak music scene.
Peter Uličný established himself as a lyricist in the field of rock and popular music in the first half of the 1980s by collaborating with the guitarist and composer Andrej Šeban and his group Tristo hrmených. Later he collaborated with other well-known representatives of the domestic music scene: Banket, Richard Müller, Team, Pavol Habera, Robo Grigorov, Marián Greksa, Beáta Dubasová, Sonia, Bibi and others. He published an extensive book about the legendary musician Marián Varga and is the editor of his collective musical work.
The author's long-term reading and theoretical interest in the so-called fringe genres, especially in the field of fantasy, adventure and horror literature, he found application in approximately two dozen afterwords and studies to Slovak book translations of world authors. Together with Martin "Roger" Králik, he compiled the first anthology of Slovak horror stories The Color of Fear (Artis Omnis, 2011). Since 2014, he has been a member of the Dumas club, a secret society of bibliophiles and worshipers of obscure genres.
He currently works as a teacher at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava (Department of Marketing Communication) and runs his own antiquarian bookshop in the Veda bookstore on Štefániková street in Bratislava.
