-----
The Other Side of the Mountain (Yumeng He)
A filmmaker follows her father, an artist, in search of his childhood home in Southwestern China, fulfilling a wish of his aging mother. Changed by the tides of history, the streets are unrecognizable. Father and daughter meander through time contemplating what it means to see and make images.
Osamu Yokoyama (Gakuto Tano)
A former graphic designer, Yokoyama uses madake bamboo to create large, sculptural forms through improvisational techniques, highlighting the material’s raw beauty and emotional depth.
Better Science (Walter Solon)
Better Science investigates the mysterious disappearance and reappearance of statues from a park just meters away from Bayer’s global headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany. Filmed during Bayer’s 2018 acquisition of Monsanto, the film questions the relationship between the German agrochemical giant and its Nazi past as IG Farben.
Halima (Oliver Zimmerman)
In Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, a woman living with a disability overcomes daily barriers to create education, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities for women and girls in her community.
