World the living versus the world of the dead. One of the most attractive topics since ancient times. With the lightness and exaggeration characteristic of him, in 1988 he was also processed by the famous director Tim Burton in his cult film Beetlejuice. The Oscar-winning film was indelibly recorded in the history of cinematography simply because it paved the way for the horror fantasy comedy genre for the following decades. The current musical adaptation of the film Beetlejuice, written by Scott Brown, Anthony King and composer and lyricist Eddie Perfect, does not differ from the original in any way, and on the contrary very tastefully and aptly moves the whole story to a more modern level with elements of the latest theatrical tricks, magic and lighting effects.
In the musical comedy, which had its world premiere in 2016 (Broadway, New York), we follow a young girl Lydia, who is constantly looking for a way to deal with the death of her beloved mother. Instead of her father Charles, who is blinded by his etheric bio-priest Delia, the only listeners to her anguish are the ghosts, Barbara and Adam. Lydia and her father and his lover moved into their house against their will. The creature that brings even more chaos to the whole situation is the eccentric and funny demon Beetlejuice, whose intentions are as impure as his teeth. As is the case with many dramas, love remains the main driving force in this case as well, which manifests itself in many forms and demonstrates its immortality to the viewer in addition to the captivating visual show.
