Barrandov – splněný sen jednoho podnikatele

Commented walk through Barrand's residential area.

In the beginning there was one business idea: to build a new garden city. This plan in itself would not have been particularly strange if an inhospitable and more or less inaccessible place, situated on a rocky promontory, had not been chosen as the site of the future development. In this context, the idea seemed rather crazy. But its author, Václav Maria Havel, did not let anything discourage him. And so a new residential district gradually began to grow on the plateau of Na Habrové. Film studios and a restaurant were also added to it, which soon after its opening became a sought-after place for the people of Prague.

On the walk, listeners will get to know this whole remarkable story and walk through places that are so inextricably linked with the history of the First Republic of Prague. They will learn what problems they had to deal with during construction, how the restaurant business worked on the terraces and who the first residents of this neighborhood were. They will also see a number of interesting First Republic villas.

• Length of the walk: approx. 1.5–2 hours
• End: Barrandovská street
• Ticket advance sales end one hour before the start walks.
• Children under the age of 6 have free entry.
• Tickets can only be purchased on the spot if the capacity of the walk has not been filled.
• The organizer reserves the right to cancel the walk in case of low interest. The participants with the ticket will be informed about the cancellation of the walk and the money will be returned to their account.
