Autumn Equinox Women’s Circle: An evening of ritual, reflection, and community connection

A Nature-Based Garden Gathering in NE Portland

This month we'll gather just before the Autumn Equinox to create space to honor the shift in season both around us, and in our inner world. After the fast-paced, busy energy of Summer, Fall's arrival reminds us to slow down, listen deeply, and begin to integrate all that has happened so far this year. I offer this women's circle with intersecting intentions:

  • For you to get a moment to simply breathe, slow down, and reconnect with yourself and nature's rhythms as you cross the seasonal threshold into Fall with new intentions
  • To bring more ceremony back into our culture, because it helps us connect with something greater, create conscious meaning, and cultivate community
  • A form of resistance against the oppressive systems and colononizer mentality that work to keep you disconnected from your heart and body's wisdom, nature, and soulful community connection
  • To tap into the power and magic that happens when women come together to reflect, set intentions, share, and witness
  • A celebration of gratitude for all that summer offered and the literal and metaphoric harvest season we're entering
  • A way to strengthen and expand our web of community as we head toward the darker months, where we often need that extra boost from community

What to Expect

Sara created and held a beautiful space for our women's circle. I felt welcome, cared for and honored. What stood out to me was the way she slowed things way down, and that she kept drawing our focus back to nature, to Mother Earth, and related that to our own cycles and rhythms of life. I left refreshed, relaxed, and inspired.

  • Grounding, nature-based mindfulness practices to help you land in your body and in the season
  • A guided equinox ritual to reflect on what you’re harvesting and set intentions for the new season
  • A mix of solo time and connective time so you get to attune with yourself, with nature, and with community and don't feel on the spot in circle
  • Gentle, guided sharing in circle so you can be heard and seen in your beautiful messy humanness, and do the same for others
  • Witchy, ceremonial vibes

Who This Is For
Anyone who self-identifies as a woman and/or was socialized as a woman. This circle is for you if you've been curious or craving more ritual, magic and ceremony in your life, and want to experience a deeper connection with nature, with yourself, and with community.

What to Bring
A journal, water, and something comfortable to sit on. This is an outside circle, so bring a sweater. You’re welcome to bring a small item for the altar if you'd like.

Where We'll Be

Rhythm Seed Farm is a 501(c)3 urban farm in the Cully neighborhood doing incredible work in the community. They're mission is: "To enhance social and environmental resilience by growing locally adapted seeds, distributing them to low-income and BIPOC communities, and empowering people to grow and save seeds of their own."

We'll be gathering in the center of their gardens, where they've created a magical, intimate circle (literally) for community.

Exchange
This circle is offered on an equity-based sliding scale, with a portion of proceeds returning to Rhythm Seed Farm. I know it is sometimes difficult to choose your spot on a scale, so I'll share this: $30 is the suggested contribution to help me sustain this offering, and be able to share with Rhythm Seed. I've shared some descriptors/examples below, to help you reflect on what feels in integrity with your current situation. No judgement, and NOTAFLOF.

  • Core Contribution: $30 — people who are able to meet their essential financial needs fine are encouraged to contribute the core rate that helps sustain this offering
  • Supported Contribution: $10 —people who are feeling like money is real tight right now are encouraged to accept support from others by contributing at the supported rate
  • Ally Contribution: $40+ — people experiencing financial abundance are encouraged to contribute extra dollars as a supporter for others experiencing financial hardship
  • NOTAFLF — reach out to Sara at hello@sarabrells.com to RSVP.

Community Agreements
We're here for sacred witnessing, not fixing. We show up with curiosity and compassion. We hold what is shared in circle in confidentiality.

Space is limited to honor intimacy and connection.
