Son of D. Dinis and great-grandson of Afonso dominant imperial thought, the kingdom of Portugal was not just an eccentric rectangle on the map of Europe, but rather an active participant in the complex game of powers and cultures that had been unfolding, for many centuries, around the Mediterranean.
It is a writing project that highlights an integrative perspective on the history of Hispania, leaving out neither Moors nor Jews.
