ANTIGONA (podľa Sofokla a iných)

The play Antigone, which Sophocles performed for the first time in Athens 2465 years ago, brought us a very current view of us - people who are in a constant battle with fate, but especially with people who currently have and abuse power.

Ancient Greek theater inspired us in several areas. The emergence of drama, dialogue, work with a mask, music or voice, but also the historical and mythological context offered us many topics for creation and conversations. Several words that we still use today have their roots in Greek. Let's mention at least one of them all: kalokagatia (Greek καλοκαγαθία), i.e. the ideal of harmonious harmony between body and soul. How clear and noble! But how can we approach the real meaning of the word kalokagatia if we are born into a body that is disadvantaged from birth? What is the true meaning of the word harmony?

We believe that the performance of Antigone will also raise questions in you about topics that have been a part of us since time immemorial: love, death, freedom, help or power.
