🗨️💬 MORE ABOUT THE DISCUSSION TOPIC

America stands at a crossroads - which will he go on the road? What will be the future of democracy in America and America in the new world?

Political analysts see the main theme of the election, which will take place less than a week after the debate (November 5, 2024), will be the competition between two different visions of America. President Biden, who withdrew his candidacy in favor of Kamala Harris, summed it up in his speech from the Oval Office as follows: "America will have to choose between moving forward or backward".

On the other side of the ideological spectrum stands Donald Trump and the Republican Party dependent on him. Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Joseph Ellis says that the "again" in Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan for Trump's vast MAGA political base actually stands for "the promised land that lies somewhere in the first half of the twentieth century, when white male supremacy still assumed natural order.” Some analysts even go further. They say that with a potential Trump victory comes the end of democracy in the US.
