About event
With Heike Feist
Welcome to a completely normal day, to a completely normal family doctor’s office! The waiting room is bursting at the seams, the doctor's assistant is in the starting blocks and the doctor comes to work, as always, very stressed. Right now Dr. Annegret Kern begins her consultation when there is dripping from the ceiling. Water damage in the consulting room!
While doctor's assistant Natia declares war on the accident, Dr. Keeps her patients happy in the waiting room. She begins to talk about her everyday work between consultation hours, emergency services, training, pharmaceutical advice and paperwork. Cracks in the health system are gradually becoming apparent and the life of Dr. Kern is further removed from that proverbial goddess in white than one would think. Luckily she has the down-to-earth Natia at her side and many a watchful eye is cast on her from the highest places. In a family doctor's office, more things are possible between heaven and earth than a health insurance bill suggests.
Heike Feist transforms the theater into a waiting room in a furious triple role. With heart and a sharp eye, she takes aim at the relationship between doctor and patient and the pharmaceutical industry and health insurance companies also get their fat. And in the course of this thrilling and informative theater evening, a doctor that we think we know based on many clichés becomes a doctor that we would all like to have.
Book: Heike Feist and Ralf Krämer
Production: Marc Lippuner
