About event
How to navigate safely in the world of the Internet and social networks?
Children and young people today spend a lot of time on the Internet, social networks or watching videos that at first glance look completely real. However, artificial intelligence today can create images, videos and voices that can appear real, even if they are fake. That is why it is important to learn to recognize suspicious content and know what to do when we come across it.
In this interactive training, children will learn in a simple and understandable way what artificial intelligence (AI) is, what hoaxes, disinformation and deepfake videos are and why they spread on the Internet. Together, we will show concrete examples from the online world and explain how content on the Internet can be modified or created with the help of AI.
Children will learn to notice warning signs - for example, unnatural faces, strange movements, suspicious texts, strong emotions or missing sources of information. We will also explain why it is not good to believe everything we see on social networks and how to safely verify information.
At the training you will learn:
➡️what is artificial intelligence (AI) and where do we meet it
➡️what are hoaxes, disinformation and deepfake videos
➡️how to recognize suspicious or manipulative content
➡️what signs can AI-generated have content
➡️why some videos or messages may be false
➡️how to safely verify information and sources
➡️what to do when we find hoax or fraudulent content
➡️how to safely use social networks and the Internet
The aim of the training is to develop children's critical thinking, teach them to work safely with information and help them better navigate the digital world, where they increasingly encounter AI content and disinformation.
This topic is especially suitable for:
➡️second grade elementary school students
➡️high school students
➡️school teams and youth groups
➡️parents with children
The big advantage of the topic is that children encounter AI content daily on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, but often cannot distinguish between what is reality and what can be manipulation or fraud.
The event is organized in cooperation with Slovak Telekom, a.s.
Venue: M. Rešetku Public Library in Trenčín, passage Zlatá Fatima, 1st floor
Entrance is free (until capacity is filled).
Reservation of seats: info@vkmr.sk or via the online form on the library's website: https://www.vkmr.sk/registracia-na-podujatie.html?page_id=422256&event_id=428422
