On the afternoon of March 16 and/or March 18, 2026, a two-part online course on How to multiply and How to divide in the Hejné method will take place. You can apply for one or both blocks. The course is primarily intended for teachers in the 3rd to 5th grade of elementary school, but the content can also be used by teachers in other grades.
Within this additional course, we will show how to deepen classic algorithmic multiplication and division into meaningful counting with understanding. We will look at how children build a scheme of these two mathematical operations. We will also try various manipulative and computational techniques that will help children acquire a tool for more reliable calculations. We will seek to answer the question of how and whether the Hejné method teaches children to count quickly.

Registration: until 11/03/2026 (or until capacity filling)
Fee: €38 for one 90-minute session or €54 for both 90-minute sessions
The course will take place in real time "live", it will not be possible to view it later from the recording. It is not necessary to have your own ZOOM account, but a stable internet connection is required. We recommend connecting via a computer with a camera and microphone so that we can see and hear each other (i.e. not via mobile). Participants are expected to actively participate in the program.
Program:
- the course is divided into two 90-minute blocks, you can register for only one or both blocks
- How to multiply - Monday 16.3. from 16:00 to 17:30
- How to share - Wednesday 18.3. from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- the program is intended primarily for teachers of the 3rd to 5th grade of elementary school, but it can also be useful for other grades (it is not a condition that the participant be a teacher)
Certificate of completion of the course:
- certificates will be sent by email within 2 weeks after the course
- the condition for obtaining the certificate is that the camera is turned on during the training and active participation in the workshops (at least 80% of the course)
