About event
HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH IN A STUDIO FOR FILM IN THE 21ST CENTURY
Photography for film still has its place. Many shoot on film and know rationally why, and for many it is a matter of feeling. But how to photograph in a studio with flashes so that we minimize waste (because films and their processing are not cheap) and why do it anyway. You will find the answers and solutions in our new workshop.
We will go over the basics of working with flashes in the studio.
We will show how to use a digital camera for measuring light.
We will talk about why it is better than a flash meter and what new possibilities it gives us.
We will learn how to fire flashes with old cameras (with a flash, through a cable, with a built-in flash and without (all of the above)
Each participant will receive a film (roll or cine film) as part of the workshop price
Everyone will receive a voucher to develop and scan it.
Those who do not have a film camera will get a loan or can just watch and learn.
We will talk about which film cameras are suitable for serious work.
We will also talk about what films and developers are good to use.
We will think about the advantages of B&W film and the limits of color materials.
Sometimes in another workshop we will learn how to develop film and why and how to do/not do it.
We will start at 09:00 and finish around 17:00. Around noon we will take a break for lunch.
Coffee, alcohol/non-alcoholic and small snacks will be freely available.
The whole thing will take place on Saturday 15.11.2025 in ATELIER ATRIUM at Nám. Sv.Anny 21 in Trenčín
Maximum number of participants is 6
Price €139 incl. participation in the workshop, black and white film, a voucher for developing the film and scanning it, possibly borrowing a camera, refreshments and a good feeling of new knowledge
