One of the most original personalities of contemporary European music returns to the Czech Republic. The Danish singer, songwriter and producer Agnes Obel will perform on July 31, 2026 at ARŠE+ as part of her return to concert stages after a break of several years.
Agnes Obel has built a unique position on the world music scene thanks to a unique combination of neoclassical, alternative pop, delicate electronics and melancholic songwriting. Her debut Philharmonics and subsequent album Aventine achieved platinum awards and established her as an artist who could reach a wide audience without compromising artistic depth.
Characteristic elements of her work are piano compositions, layered vocals and an emphasis on space, silence and emotion.
A major milestone in her career was the album Citizen of Glass (2016), which expanded her sound world with experimental electronics and non-traditional instruments. The follow-up record Myopia (2020), completely created in a home studio in Berlin, confirmed Agnes Obel as a fully sovereign author and producer. Her music regularly appears in films, series and games — from True Detective to The Last of Us to Dark Souls III.
The concert at ARŠE+ will offer a cross-section of her work spanning her entire career — from the most famous compositions to more subtle, atmospheric compositions that stand out in the intimate space of the theater hall.
