About event
Advent concert of the Silent World, artistically interpreted
The student choir Besharmonie and the boys' choir Pueri gaudentes will perform traditionally. A special guest will be Bára Basiková, who will complement some of the songs with her performance. The concert program will be full of carols, Christmas songs from around the world and famous gospel songs.
Are events like this important and can deaf people also enjoy music and have a complete concert experience? Definitely yes, but professional interpreters and Czech sign language interpreters who are dedicated to artistic interpretation are needed for this. This is intended for hearing-impaired people who communicate in Czech sign language. Interpreters dedicated to this discipline turn music into an image and use their whole body to express the content and emotions of the composition. That is why deaf people can enjoy music just as intensely as hearing people.
The concert received the patronage of Prague councilors JUDr. Jiří Pospíšil and Ing. Alexandra Udženija and was financially supported by the City Hall. city of Prague. Also thanks to this support, the entrance fee is voluntary.
