We invite you to an online workshop on adaptation and defense mechanisms in children with complex trauma led by psychotherapist Ana M. Gómez, who has long been dedicated to the topic of trauma, lectures and conducts seminars all over the world.
The workshop will be conducted in English with translation into Slovak. It will be translated by Mgr. Hanka Vojtová.
In this workshop we will deal with the theory as well as the connections between phobias and trauma, defense and adaptation mechanisms. The presentation will include work on both the system and the dyad, because this is the only way to influence meta-defenses and intergenerational patterns. We will show how to restore connection and co-regulatory processes in parent-child interaction.
We will address strategies that directly address trauma-related defense and adaptive mechanisms using play, parts work, Sandtray therapy, and Polyvagal-based interventions theory within a phase-oriented approach.
