12. November 1990: an optimistic mood prevails in Czechoslovakia. After the fall of the Iron Curtain, Western Europe and Austria become the embodiment of freedom and new beginnings. The first working day of the new vice consul for cultural affairs, Mrs. Stella Avallone, begins at the Consulate General in Bratislava. Her intense work commitment paid off and we can look back on 35 successful years of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Bratislava.
A lot has changed since the first beginnings. The form of cultural work and communication nowadays has a completely different character. Even the art that we present has undergone a visible change. However, the goal has remained the same for all these years: the cultural forum wants to set something in motion by presenting Austrian art; open your eyes; to cause astonishment; to provoke thought; point out diversity; enable discourse and above all: provide space for it.
We are celebrating 35 years of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Bratislava and the team of the cultural forum cordially invites you to visit its premises, open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., to view the exhibition "Photographs from 35 years of the Austrian Cultural Forum Bratislava" and to celebrate the anniversary together.
The jazz trio The Crossroads will take care of the musical program. Trio The Crossroads is composed of students from music schools in Vienna and Graz, as well as from the Conservatory in Košice, who are dedicated to classical and modern jazz as well as their own compositions. The trio has already performed at several concerts at home and abroad. In May 2025, pianist Damián Štefan won an award for his own original composition at a jazz competition in Slovensky Grob.

In May 2025, the pianist Damián Štefan received an award for an original composition at a jazz competition in Slovenský Grob.
