About event
The stores of the largest Christian publisher of the Society of St. Vojtech will be closed on November 17. We hereby express our disagreement with the cancellation of this holiday as a day of rest.
"The seventeenth of November is the biggest milestone in our modern history, and without this day freedom would not be possible here," said Ivan Šulík, director of the Society of St. Avojtech. "Freedom is among the highest values and we must never give it up. Let's not forget that it is not final, we have to fight for it every day." According to the director of the SSV, thanks to November 17, we as a country became a part of the civilized world and we must constantly repeat this to ourselves. "The youngest generation no longer remembers the dark period of our history, and we must remind them of it."
The St. Avojtech Association chose the cover of Pope Benedict XVI's book as the theme of the campaign to support November 17. Free the freedom. "Freedom includes the ability of the conscience to recognize the basic values of humanity, those that concern all," writes the great theologian and thinker Benedict XVI, warning: "When freedom runs out, it can destroy itself, it can tire of itself. In our century, we have experienced that even one decision of the majority can serve to destroy freedom."
